About Ross Rocks
Ross Busby and the study of crystals
Ross Busby is a Colorado-based crystal and mineral educator, artist and maker. His practice brings together geology, traditional meanings and hands-on observation, with care taken to keep each one clearly labeled.
Journey & practice
Learning through minerals
Ross’s interest in crystals began with rocks found in and around Colorado, looking closely at texture, colour and how each stone was formed. Over time that curiosity became a studio practice of tumbling, carving, jewelry and art.
Today Ross teaches small-group workshops, one-to-one sessions and public talks, and writes about the Terminated Crystal Technique and related practices. Specific training, credentials and affiliations are listed here only once they are confirmed: [Placeholder: add verified training and experience].
Philosophy
Three ways of looking
Geology first
Every session starts with what a mineral is: its composition, formation and how it weathers. These are observable facts, and they are presented as such.
Traditions, named as traditions
Traditional meanings come from many cultures and periods. They are shared as historical and cultural perspectives, not as proven properties.
Personal experience, labeled
Ross’s own experiences with stones are offered as personal reflection. They are not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and they are never a substitute for professional care.
Respectful observation
In workshops and sessions, the aim is to look closely, ask questions and practise together with care for the stone and for each other.
